Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Kassidie Butler received a BFA from Cleveland State University in 2017. She lives and works in Cleveland State University. Butler is best known for her stylized illustrations reminiscent of graphic novels, Japanese animation and video games, with dynamic and sometimes surreal twists. Her themes usually include a large variety based on a mix of eastern and western mythology. She works in graphite, alcohol based markers, colored pencils India ink and occasionally watercolor. She has received Merit Scholarship for the 2016-17 school year. Butler has exhibited her work in the 2016 People’s Art Show at Cleveland State University and the 2017 Merit Scholar Exhibition also at Cleveland State University.
